About
Introduction
Hi, I’m Jamie (she/her), a neurodivergent speech therapist in Kent. I specialise in neurodivergent-affirming speech and language therapy, providing tailored support to both children and adults. I offer speech and language therapy, ADHD speech therapy, and affirming support for autistic people in a safe, empowering space.
P.S – feel free to check out my blog where I speak about everything speech, language and neurodiverse!
why my journey makes a difference
I shape my work as a neurodivergent-affirming speech therapist through lived experience, empathy, and compassion. Drawing on my own neurodivergent journey means I bring genuine understanding to my practice.
I feel deeply passionate about creating meaningful change so clients feel seen, valued, and supported.
My Journey as a Neurodivergent Speech Therapist
As a neurodivergent woman, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating a world that rarely accommodates different communication styles. I received my ADHD diagnosis later in life, which shaped my perspective on neurodivergence and affirming practice. My therapy approach is all about self-advocacy, collaboration, mutual trust and building a positive self-identity. To learn more about ADHD, visit ADHD UK.
How My Role as a Neurodivergent Speech Therapist Shapes My Practice
I also have two neurodivergent sons, which allows me to connect with my clients on an even deeper levelAs a mother, I bring lived experience of raising neurodivergent children into my work with clients and families. In addition, these experiences are what pulled me toward being a neurodivergent-affirming SLT. These experiences also mean I provide unique training opportunities to others. I shape my work as a neurodivergent speech therapist in Kent through both lived and professional experience.

My Training and Professional Development
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy (First Class Honours) and maintain HCPC registration and full RCSLT membership.
I am also an NLA-trained clinician listed on the Meaningful Speech Register, supporting gestalt language processors and their families.
Ongoing professional development is central to my practice and reflects both evidence-based working and my commitment to neurodiversity-affirming care.
This includes advanced training in gestalt processing and annual updates in safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, and equality.
I am ACT-trained and hold Level 2 Accreditation with the Association for Psychological Therapies, supporting emotional wellbeing alongside communication needs. I have also completed specialist training in SEMH and RCSLT’s Mind Your Words course. In line with RCSLT guidance, I complete at least 30 hours of CPD each year to maintain reflective practice.
in my spare time
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading and practising yoga.
I’m an avid reader, regularly exploring books on personal growth, research, and self-development.
I’m also passionate about staying active. I enjoy exploring the concept of intersectionality and how it shapes our world.
travelling
Traveling is another big passion of mine, especially to hot countries. There’s something about the warmth that makes me feel at my happiest and most relaxed.
Oh and I can’t forget my third animal son, Teddy! I have attached a picture of him to this page.
